BDE No 85 solution is a cholinergic agent that is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of ethers. BDE No 85 solution has been shown to have a matrix effect on cells, which may be due to its ability to alter signal pathways and DNA repair. This compound has been shown to cause genotoxic activity in humans and other animals. The effects of congeners on the toxicity of this substance are not known. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed in order to assess the risk factors for congeners-induced toxicity.
