Descrição:
1,3-Bis(4-bromophenyl)propane-1,3-dione is a chiral organic compound that has been used to study the effects of irradiation on the rate of chemical reactions. It is a fluorescent molecule that can be used for the detection of metal ions and other compounds. 1,3-Bis(4-bromophenyl)propane-1,3-dione is sensitive to changes in pH and temperature and can be used as a sensor. The addition of alcohols to this molecule resulted in an increase in both its fluorescence and kinetic constants. The presence of catalysts such as zinc chloride or copper sulfate increased the rate of desymmetrization by up to 10%.
