4-Methylphenoxyacetonitrile is a bioactive molecule that is synthesized by the methylation of phenoxyacetic acid. It has been shown to have significant antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus. 4-Methylphenoxyacetonitrile also exhibits cytotoxic activity against human tumor cells in vitro and in vivo. This product is used in herbal and synthetic therapeutics as an antiseptic and disinfectant agent.
