Sulfatinib is an inhibitor of the CDK4 and CDK6 protein, which are cell cycle regulators. It is a molecule that has shown anti-angiogenic and anti-tumorigenic properties in animal models. Sulfatinib has been evaluated for its safety and efficacy in patients with solid tumors, including those with colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, glioblastoma multiforme, and non-small cell lung cancer. In addition to its antitumor activity, sulfatinib has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of human myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs). This drug also inhibits the production of VEGF by inhibiting epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling pathways. Sulfatinib is metabolized through cytochrome P450 enzymes to form an active metabolite or sulfapyridine.
