RCGD 423 is a homodimeric, programmable molecule that can be used to induce the production of oncostatin M (OSM) in chondrocytes. The RCGD 423-induced OSM production leads to an increase in the activation of signalling pathways that lead to hypertrophy and follicle formation. RCGD 423 has the ability to modulate the atypical IL-6 mediated programme, which is responsible for the development of osteoarthritis. RCGD 423 is also being investigated as a potential treatment for other diseases, including cancer, inflammation and fibrosis.
