• Descrição: BIBS 39 is a potent and selective non-peptide angiotensin II type 1 receptor antagonist. It blocks the binding of angiotensin II to its receptors, which inhibits the activation of the angiotensin system. This prevents the production of vasoconstrictive peptides, such as angiotensin II, and reduces blood pressure. BIBS 39 has been shown to be effective against ventricular dysfunction in rats with cirrhosis and congestive heart failure. BIBS 39 also has an antihypertensive activity in Sprague-Dawley rats that may be due to its inhibition of oxidative stress.
