Informação sobre produto
2,5-Diaminobenzoic acid dihydrochloride (DABA) is a carcinogenic substance that is used in the laboratory to induce lipid peroxidation and DNA damage. It is a red, water-soluble solid that can be eluted from silica gel with ethyl acetate. DABA has been shown to cause liver toxicity and tumorigenesis in rats. This agent also reacts with thiobarbituric acid (TBA), which forms a pink chromogen called thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS). TBA reacts with the nucleus of cells, resulting in DNA damage. TBARS are an index of lipid peroxidation and tissue damage. The TBARS level increases as the number of DABA equivalents increases.
