1-Methylpiperazine dihydrochloride is a serotonin reuptake inhibitor that belongs to the group of experimental drugs. It is soluble in water and hydrochloric acid, but insoluble in ether. 1-Methylpiperazine dihydrochloride has been shown to bind to the ryanodine receptor and inhibit the release of calcium ions from intracellular stores.
