Decanal diethyl acetal is used for the prevention of oxidative rancidity in food, animal feed, and oils. This product has low bioavailability due to it being hydrolyzed by enzymes in the small intestine. The molecule has a diameter of 114-120 amu and has been shown to inhibit activity against peroxide-induced oxidation.
