It is a reactive, hydroxyanilino methylsulfinyl compound that can be used as a reagent for silylating and trimethylacetic esterification. 6-Methoxychromone has been shown to have antitumor activity in vitro and in vivo, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the growth of tumor cells. 6-Methoxychromone also has an inhibitory effect on tumor metastasis, which may be related to its ability to decrease the production of prostaglandins.
