Chlozolinate solution is a chemical reagent used for the determination of the amount of chloroform in urine samples. The reaction is based on a synergic effect of ethylene diamine and carbonyl group. Chloroform reacts with nitrogen atoms in the sample to form an intermediate, which is then quantified using gas chromatography. Chlozolinate solution has been shown to be effective against wild-type strains and high resistance strains, but not against low resistance strains. It has also been found that chlozolinate solution can inhibit the growth of certain fungi by inhibiting the synthesis of growth factor.
