Tetraaza-12-crown-4 tetrahydrogensulfate is a sodium salt of sulfuric acid with the chemical formula Na2[S2O8]·4H2O. It is a white crystalline solid that reacts with water to produce sulfur dioxide and hydrogen sulfite. It has been used as a starting material for the synthesis of crown ethers. Tetraaza-12-crown-4 tetrahydrogensulfate has been shown to have potential uses in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, Langmuir adsorption isotherms, and surface methodology reactions. The reaction mechanism between methyl glycosides and this compound has also been studied.
