Informação sobre produto
2-(2,6-Dibromo-4-formylphenoxy)acetic acid is a potent antibacterial agent that has been shown to be active against dermatophytes and some bacteria. This compound is effective against gram-positive bacterial species such as Staphylococcus and Streptococcus, but not against gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli or Pseudomonas aeruginosa. 2-(2,6-Dibromo-4-formylphenoxy)acetic acid inhibits the growth of microorganisms by disrupting their cell membranes and inhibiting protein synthesis. It binds to the ribosome at a site close to the peptide bond during protein synthesis. The compound also has antifungal activity that is mediated through disruption of cell membranes.
