4-Chloro-4'-methoxybenzophenone is an organic compound that is a nitrate with the chemical formula C6H4ClO2. It can be synthesized by reacting chlorobenzene and p-hydroxybenzoic acid in the presence of ammonium chloride, potassium iodide, and phosphorus pentachloride. 4-Chloro-4'-methoxybenzophenone is used as a reagent for the synthesis of other aromatic compounds. The compound has a cyclic structure with two methoxy groups at opposite ends of the ring.
