1-(1-Phenylcyclohexyl)-4-hydroxypiperidine is a photosensitive compound that is used in the synthesis of palladium complexes. It has been shown to be an antimicrobial agent against P. aeruginosa and S. aureus. 1-(1-Phenylcyclohexyl)-4-hydroxypiperidine has also been found to be effective in treating cancer, congestive heart failure, and urinary tract infections in women. The analytical method for this drug involves hydrolysis by phosphatase in alkaline conditions followed by light emission using a spectrophotometer or photometer.
