Chrysin is a flavonoid that is found in a number of plants, including scutellaria baicalensis. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and to suppress the production of hormones such as oroxylin A. This compound has been used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat lung heat syndrome, which is characterized by fever and dry cough. Chrysin has also been shown to inhibit the activity of cytochrome P450 enzymes and may be an effective treatment for cancer or other diseases caused by these enzymes.
