Informação sobre produto
Netupitant is a neurokinin-1 receptor antagonist that inhibits the binding of substance P to its receptor. It is used as an antiemetic agent in patients receiving emetogenic chemotherapy, such as cyclophosphamide. Netupitant has been shown to be effective in reducing the incidence and severity of acute and delayed nausea and vomiting. The drug also binds to the serotonin 5-HT2A receptor, which may contribute to its efficacy in chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. In addition, netupitant has been shown to inhibit the uptake of prodrugs by cells, which may increase their efficacy. This drug has not yet been approved for use on humans but is undergoing clinical trials for cancer treatment.
