1-(3,4-Dimethylphenyl)-3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde is an anti-infective agent that binds to receptor cells and intercalates into DNA. It has been shown to have potent apoptosis protein activity in a variety of cell types. 1-(3,4-Dimethylphenyl)-3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde inhibits the proliferation of tumor cells by inducing necrotic cell death. This compound also has low potency against bacteria and fungi and no activity against viruses. It is structurally related to dopamine and has protonated hydroxyl groups on the aromatic ring.
