These configurations are due to the presence of two chiral centers in the molecule. Spectroscopic data revealed that Daphnicyclidin F has a molecular mass of 287 amu and a molecular formula C14H14N2O4. This compound also has anti-inflammatory properties because it inhibits prostaglandin synthesis through inhibition of cyclooxygenase activity. Daphnicyclidin F also binds to DNA and RNA, which may be responsible for its anti-inflammatory effects and growth inhibition in bacterial cells
