Informação sobre produto
ML162 is a chemical compound that inhibits fatty acid synthesis. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on mouse tumor growth and to suppress the proliferation of mutant melanoma cells in mice. ML162 is also able to inhibit the growth of human cancer cells in culture, but not normal cells. This drug has a safety profile that makes it suitable for use as a potential therapeutic agent for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and cancers, such as those of the nervous system and skin. The mechanism by which ML162 exerts its effects appears to involve inhibition of the activity of fatty acid synthase, which synthesizes fatty acids from acetyl-CoA.
