5-Carboethoxy-2-deoxycytidine is a monophosphate nucleoside analog of cytidine which is used in DNA synthesis and as an antiviral agent. It is also used in the treatment of some types of cancer and has shown promising results in animal studies. 5-Carboethoxy-2-deoxycytidine is able to inhibit the growth of cancer cells by blocking DNA synthesis, thereby stopping tumor growth and preventing tumor cell proliferation. 5-Carboethoxy-2-deoxycytidine has also been found to be an effective antiviral agent against influenza A virus, herpes simplex virus type 1, and pseudorabies virus. This drug has been shown to be safe and effective in clinical trials with humans.
