N-(1-Phenyl-ethyl)-acetamide is a growth factor that can be used to treat cancer. It has been shown to have anti-leukemic activity, and the uptake of this drug by hematopoietic cells is thought to be due to its ability to bind to epidermal growth factor. N-(1-Phenyl-ethyl)-acetamide has also been shown in clinical studies to inhibit tumor perfusion, which may help prevent the spread of cancerous cells. This drug has been shown to also have antineoplastic effects against renal cell cancer.
