Vitexilactone is a natural compound found in the leaves of Vitex trifolia. It has been shown to possess significant antioxidant activity and biological properties. Vitexilactone has been shown to inhibit 3t3-l1 preadipocytes differentiation, which may be due to its ability to increase the levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and hexane. This compound also inhibits 4-hydroxybenzoic acid production and calcium stearate synthesis, which are two important steps in adipocyte differentiation.
