(1R,2S,4R,5R,6R)-4-((4H-1,2,4-Triazol-3-yl)thio)-2-((S)-2-aminopropanamido)bicyclo[3.1.0]hexane-2,6-dicarboxylic acid is a bicyclic compound that is an allosteric modulator of metabotropic glutamate receptors. It has been shown to produce antipsychotic activity in schizophrenic patients in a dose dependent manner and modulate locomotor activity induced by glutamate. It also inhibits the depression induced by chronic stress and produces antidepressant effects in wild type mice but not knockout mice deficient for the 5HT 2A receptor. The compound has been shown to be a potent and selective antagonist of 5HT 2A receptors and displays at least 100 times selectivity for this receptor over other serotonergic receptors such as 5HT 1A .
