Informação sobre produto
Theophylline is the most commonly used drug for the treatment of infantile apnea. Theophylline is an orally active methylxanthine derivative that stimulates the respiratory center in the brain and increases bronchial secretions. Theophylline has also been shown to have myeloid-specific activity, as it can be expressed by myeloid cells in cell culture. It has been shown that a disruption of this expression leads to an increase in untreated infant mortality rates. Theophylline may also have a role in preventing colchicine-induced hematologic toxicity.
