2-Acetamido-4,6-O-benzylidene-2-deoxy-D-galactopyranose is a fluorescent dye that binds to the hydroxyl group of nucleic acids. It can be used for microscopy of cells and bacteria in culture. This dye is also used for the measurement of cavitation activity. The dye is added at a concentration of 0.1% to the cell culture media.
