Silicotungstic acid is a chemical compound that is used in the production of fluorosilicic acid. It can also be used as an indicator for metal hydroxides, showing a synchronous fluorescence with the metal hydroxide. Silicotungstic acid has been shown to have synergistic effects when combined with imidazole hydrochloride and inorganic acids. This chemical is a proton donor and can act as a catalyst for reactions involving imidazole hydrochloride, inorganic acids, and fatty acids. Silicotungstic acid is also able to emit light due to its oxidation-reduction properties.
