Descrição:2,3:4,6-Di-O-cyclohexylidene-a-D-mannopyranose is a custom synthesis product. It can be modified with fluorination, methylation or monosaccharide substitution. The synthesis of 2,3:4,6-Di-O-cyclohexylidene-a-D-mannopyranose involves an oxidative coupling of glycerol and acetone to the corresponding 1,1,2,2 tetraacetate. The latter is then converted to the desired product by means of an acid catalyzed cyclization reaction. This compound is also synthetically derived from the sugar mannose via a series of reactions including methylation and glycosylation.
