Tetrabutylammonium bis(3,6-dichloro-1,2-benzenedithiolato)nickelate is a chemical compound that has been used as a photocatalyst for the production of nitriles from alcohols. It has been shown to have an efficient transfer of electrons and photoelectrons to semiconductor nanoparticles. Tetrabutylammonium Bis(3,6-dichloro-1,2-benzenedithiolato)nickelate is used in combination with other catalysts to produce polymers with high efficiency. This compound absorbs wavelengths from the ultraviolet to the visible range. It has also been shown to be a catalyst in a variety of reactions including hydrosilylation and hydroamination.
