3-Hydroxy-5,7-dimethoxy-3',4'-methylenedioxyflavan is a natural product that was isolated from the bark of Camphora and the leaves of Cinnamomum. It is an inhibitor of beta-glucosidase, which has been shown to be effective in diabetes treatment. 3-Hydroxy-5,7-dimethoxy-3',4'-methylenedioxyflavan inhibits the degradation of glycogen in the liver by inhibiting the enzyme beta glucosidase. This inhibition leads to increased blood glucose levels and improved insulin sensitivity.
