It has shown to be effective against fungi and bacteria, including Aspergillus niger, Penicillium chrysogenum, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. 3-Chloro-2-ethenyl-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyridine is not active against Gram positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus pyogenes.
