It also has anti-HCV activity against human hepatoma cells and bowel disease. 1H-Pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin-6-amine is a fluorinated compound with a hydrophobic character that is resistant to metabolic degradation. It binds to RNA polymerase II and blocks the synthesis of viral DNA by interfering with the transcription process.
