This compound has been shown to activate immune cells in vitro and in vivo. The activation of immune cells may be due to its ability to inhibit the expression of enzymes that are required for DNA synthesis. 1,3,5-Tri-O-benzoyl-2'-O-(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)-a-[D]ribofuranosyl phosphate also inhibits the expression of enzymes involved in DNA replication and cell proliferation.
