Baricitinib phosphate is a drug that belongs to the class of tyrosine kinase inhibitors. It binds to the ATP binding site of receptor tyrosine kinases and inhibits signal transduction. Baricitinib phosphate has demonstrated efficacy in treating inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and ulcerative colitis. The drug has been shown to inhibit HIV replication in vitro and in vivo. In addition, baricitinib phosphate was effective against citric acid-induced inflammation when administered intraperitoneally in mice. This drug also inhibits proinflammatory cytokines by inhibiting signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3).

Baricitinib phosphate is currently being investigated for its potential use in the treatment of multiple sclerosis, systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriatic arthritis, Crohn's disease, ankylosing spondylitis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Clinical development
