2-Acetamido-6-chloro-9-(2',3',5'-tri-O-acetyl-b-D-ribofuranosyl)purine is a high purity, novel modified nucleoside analogue that has been shown to inhibit the progression of cancer cells. It is an activator of DNA polymerase and ribonucleotide reductase. 2-Acetamido-6-chloro-9-(2',3',5'-tri-O-acetyl--bD ribofuranosyl)purine also inhibits viral replication by inhibiting the synthesis of viral RNA from viral genomic DNA. 2ACAP is a synthetic nucleoside analogue that is used in the treatment of cancer and as an antiviral agent.
