This drug has also been shown to be effective against leukemia and lymphoma cells, as well as other types of cancer cells. 3'-O-Acetyl-5'-O-tert-butyldiphenylsilyl-2'-deoxy-2'-fluorothymidine is used for the treatment of AIDS, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, herpes zoster (shingles), and other diseases caused by viruses. It can be administered orally or intravenously.
