Descrição:1-(B-D-arabinofuranosyl)cytosine 5'-triphosphate triethylammonium salt is a novel anticancer and antiviral agent that belongs to the group of nucleosides. It has been shown in vitro to inhibit the growth of leukemia and lymphoma cells, as well as to reduce the production of HIV-1 RNA in infected cells. 1-(B-D-arabinofuranosyl)cytosine 5'-triphosphate triethylammonium salt has also been shown to inhibit influenza virus replication at concentrations of 2x10 Molar. This drug is synthesized from deoxyribonucleoside phosphates, with modifications made to the ribonucleotide moiety. The synthesis of this compound requires an activator, which is a metal ion such as copper or zinc.
