1-Methyl-1-propylpiperidinium Bromide is a nonionic surfactant that is used in simulations and electrochemical studies. It belongs to the class of piperidinium salts, which are characterized by the presence of a 1-methyl-1-propyl group on the nitrogen atom. 1-Methyl-1-propylpiperidinium Bromide has been shown to adsorb onto surfaces through ion pairing with anionic sites and hydrophobic interactions with the surface. The adsorption isotherm for this compound was found to have a linear range from 0.01 M to 10 M of hydrochloric acid. This means that it will adsorb at low concentrations, but not at high concentrations. 1-Methyl-1-propylpiperidinium Bromide also has a UV absorption spectrum at 230 nm and an electron affinity of -0.87 eV, which shows that it can be used
