Mozavaptan HCl is a cytochrome P450 (CYP) inhibitor that blocks the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are substances that control inflammation and regulate blood pressure. It has shown efficacy in the treatment of squamous carcinoma, as well as controlling symptoms and tumor growth. Mozavaptan HCl has been shown to be effective against cervical cancer, and may be an effective chemotherapy for this disease. This drug increases the concentration of nitrogen atoms in tissues, which may be useful as a diagnostic agent for cancer. Mozavaptan HCl also affects the human liver and heart, making it a potential drug target for congestive heart failure.
