4-Methyl-2-[4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-1,3-thiazole-5-carbohydrazide (4MTPCA) is a hydrazide that has antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. It scavenges hydroxyl radicals and is an effective antioxidant. It also inhibits the growth of bacterial strains in vitro. The compound is a white solid with elemental analysis of C, H, F, N. 4MTPCA has been shown to inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 and Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6633 in culture at concentrations of 0.125 mg/mL or greater. 4MTPCA has been shown to have antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, and Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6633 at
