Informação sobre produto
Methyl 3,5-dihydroxy-4-iodobenzoate is a natural product that was discovered in a soil sample from the Philippines. It is an isobenzofuranone that can be synthesized by coupling two geranyl acetates and methylating the hydroxyl group. This compound has not been found to have any known biological activity. Methyl 3,5-dihydroxy-4-iodobenzoate is synthesized by reacting acetic anhydride with methyl iodide and sodium hydroxide in methanol. The yields for this synthesis are about 50%.
