Descrição:CK-548 is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the surface glycoprotein and inhibits the binding of human pathogens to cells. The irreversible inhibition of this process prevents the virus from entering into the cell, thus inhibiting replication. CK-548 has been shown to be effective against hiv infection by preventing HIV from attaching to a chemokine receptor on the surface of CD4+ T cells. CK-548 has also been shown to inhibit viral transmission in vitro and in vivo.
