Mono-6-O-(p-toluenesulfonyl)-a-cyclodextrin is an antigen specific to cancer cells. It has been shown to be effective in reducing the size of tumors and inhibiting tumor growth, which may be due to its ability to induce tumor cell death. Mono-6-O-(p-toluenesulfonyl)-a-cyclodextrin is a small molecule that binds with high affinity to the DTDPRH sequence on the surface of cancer cells. This binding triggers a cascade of events inside the cell that lead to changes in gene expression and protein synthesis, which ultimately leads to tumor cell death.
