Rebaudioside G, also known as rebaudioside D-5'''-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→2)-β-D-glucopyranoside, is a steviol glycoside found in the Chinese herbal medicine called "shao yao". It is an orally active compound that can be used for modulating various functions of recombinant proteins. Rebaudioside G has a hydroxyl group and can be used cosmetically. The regulatory profile of rebaudioside G is still being studied. Psicose, or (1→2)-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranose, is the same type of molecule as rebaudioside G but with an additional 6 carbon chain on one end.
