N-(2.4.5-trihydroxy-6-hydroxymethyl-tetrahydro-furan-3-yl)-butylamine is a growth factor that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of chronic arthritis. This drug inhibits the production of hydrochloric acid and fatty acids, which are involved in the progression of symptoms. It also has an inhibitory effect on collagenase activity in vitro. The safety profile of N-(2.4.5-trihydroxy-6-hydroxymethyl-tetrahydro-furan-3-yl)-butylamine has been studied extensively in Sprague Dawley rats and found to be safe at both low and high doses for 12 weeks, with no adverse effects on body weight or food intake being observed.
