• Descrição: Hydrocortisone impurity G is a hydrocortisone derivative that has been shown to be an inhibitor of the estradiol dehydrogenase, which is responsible for converting estradiol to estrone. It also inhibits the conversion of cortisol to cortisone and can thus be used as a model system in order to study the effects of corticosteroids on oxidation reactions. Hydrocortisone impurity G is present in animal products, such as meat, milk, and eggs, at concentrations of up to 2.5%. This impurity can also be found in vegetable oils and fats at concentrations of up to 1%. The presence of this compound has been confirmed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Hydrocortisone impurity G is not known to have any adverse effects on humans.
