Dipotassium anthraquinone-1,8-disulfonate (DPA) is an experimentally studied compound that has been shown to be activated and selective at high temperatures. DPA can be synthesized by the reaction of potassium sulfide with anthraquinone-1,8-dihydroxyanthraquinone. The physicochemical properties of DPA have been described using techniques such as pyrolysis, uptake, and isosteric techniques. Sources of sulfur are also discussed in this description.
