• Descrição: N,N-Diethyl-2-hydroxyacetamide is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C5H10N2O2. It is a colorless liquid with a fruity odor. N,N-Diethyl-2-hydroxyacetamide has been shown to be toxic in animals when administered orally and intravenously. The LD50 of this compound is 1.6g/kg when administered to rats by mouth, and 3.8g/kg when administered intravenously to mice. N,N-Diethyl-2-hydroxyacetamide also has antibiotic properties due to its ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, or Escherichia coli. This compound is an impurity in the HIV drug indinavir sulfate and may have contributed to its failure in clinical trials for HIV therapy.
