Informação sobre produto
Benzoic acid, 2-methoxy-4-nitro-, methyl ester is a buffer that is typically used in acidic solutions. The pH of the solution can be adjusted by adding a base or an acid to neutralize the buffer. This reaction will result in the production of CO2 gas and water. The benzoic acid, 2-methoxy-4-nitro-, methyl ester has been shown to catalyze reactions that produce carboxylic acids from alcohols and carboxylates from carboxylic acids. Uncatalyzed reactions take place at a much slower rate than catalysed reactions with this compound. The absorbance of benzoic acid, 2-methoxy-4-nitro-, methyl ester is measured in UV/Vis spectroscopy at 230 nm.
