Descrição:Ethyl 5-Methyl-5-hexenoate is an organic compound that is a colorless liquid at room temperature. It is the ester formed by combining ethyl alcohol and hexanoic acid. This compound can be used in the production of other chemicals, such as stannous chloride and aluminum. Ethyl 5-methyl-5-hexenoate also has applications in the manufacture of sodium bicarbonate, where it reacts with hydrochloric acid to produce sodium sulfate, dehydrating alcohols, and reducing agents. In addition, this chemical can be used for the manufacture of hexachloride from isobutene, anhydrous sodium sulfate from anhydrous sodium chloride, and benzene from chloroethane.
